New EZproxy Release Supports Single Sign-On NetLibrary Authentication

Proven in libraries worldwide, EZproxyTM software is a simple and effective authentication solution that delivers secure user access to your electronic resources. With the release of version 4.0h, EZproxy now supports single sign-on authentication to NetLibrary eContent using existing library-issued credentials, such as a library card or PIN.

Real-Time User Validation to NetLibrary Using your Existing Database

By serving as an intermediary between your library’s user database and NetLibrary eContent, EZproxy single sign-on authentication eliminates the requirement for separate NetLibrary user accounts. Users will enjoy seamless, direct access from discovery to delivery of your NetLibrary eContent, whether their request originates from your OPAC, your Web site or other library eResource pages. Key benefits include:

  • Single sign-on authentication for local and remote users
  • Improved user access to NetLibrary eContent
  • Minimal library staff administration
  • Self-service tools within the Library Resource Center
  • Real time, simple configuration
  • No additional cost for current EZproxy users
  • Reduced administrative costs.

Seamless Integration

Implementation is fast, simple and free. First, upgrade to the latest release of EZproxy software, v4.0h GA (2007-07-11). It’s free to all libraries currently using EZproxy. For more information and to download, visit:

Next, implement EZproxy single sign-on for your NetLibrary eContent in minutes using the configuration tools located in the administration console of the Library Resource Center. Easy-to-follow instructions are available as a downloadable PDF at:

Please note: existing NetLibrary user accounts will be deactivated upon EZproxy implementation. Library staff accounts may remain active, but cannot be used to access the user site.
