Download eBooks for Offline Reading
With NetLibrary's offline reading solution, you can make your eBooks accessible to your patrons anytime, anywhere. Using Adobe technology, patrons can download PDF formatted eBooks to laptops or other portable devices and view them offline using the Adobe Acrobat eBook Reader software application.
Using Adobe's eBook Reader
Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) eBooks support high quality, graphically rich electronic content in full color. Adobe's eBook Reader will provide you with a reading experience that mirrors that of the printed book. Key features include:
- Easy-to-use, Intuitive Interface. Full-text search capability, text highlights and annotation, and bookmarks make reading an eBook easier than ever.
- Printing and Copying. Where allowed, you can print and copy portions of an eBook. A dialog box tells you how much printing or copying you have done and asks whether you want to proceed.
- Portability. Patrons can store much of the the same information that they carry in books in a digital format so that they can transport and read it comfortably in one place.
- High Definition Rendering Technology. With Adobe Reader, patrons can compare and contrast various font images and pick which looks best on their particular screen.
- Easy Access to the Web. Through its built-in Web browser, Adobe Reader gives patrons easier access to Web links built into the Adobe PDF-based eBook.
- Hear an eBook. With a unique text-to-speech feature, Adobe Reader allows users to double-click on any word to hear its pronunciation. Also, when enabled by the publisher, patrons can listen to the entire text of an eBook.1
