Tech Tips

To help you keep your NetLibrary investment visible, we've collected a few technical tips for effective use. These are relatively simple ways to increase access to your eContent at no additional cost.

  • Authentication Options
Authentication provides your users with secure access to your NetLibrary collection. Find out what the different methods of authentication are and discover which ones make sense for your library.
  • Cross-linking to NetLibrary eContent
By constructing URLs containing NetLibrary product IDs, you can provide authenticated users with a direct link to NetLibrary eContent from any Web page.
  • Turn on NetLibrary-FirstSearch linking
Because the NetLibrary platform is fully integrated with WorldCat, you can provide direct links to NetLibrary eContent in WorldCat through FirstSearch.
  • Load MARC records
Load the MARC records associated with titles into your local catalog. The pre-cataloged set of MARC records arrive ready to load into your local system, to give your users quick access to your new NetLibrary eContent.
  • Utilize the Library Resource Center
Administer and manage your library's NetLibrary account. Learn how to manage user accounts, view current authentication information on file for your library and run real-time usage reports for all your NetLibrary eContent.
  • Find answers to your users questions
Become familiar with two of the top places for library staff members to get support information about NetLibrary: NetLibrary help and the NetLibrary Library Solutions site.
